Bumi Suksesindo Wins 2024 Tamasya Award
PT Bumi Suksesindo (BSI) has once again received recognition at the prestigious 2024 Tamasya Award. This award highlights the government’s appreciation for BSI’s success in implementing Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) programs that have significantly improved the real income of communities surrounding its mining operations.
Adi Adriansyah Sjoekri, President Director of BSI, expressed his gratitude for this achievement. “This success is the result of the hard work of our employees and the support of various stakeholders in Banyuwangi,” Adi remarked as he accepted the award from Julian Ambassadur Shiddiq, Director of Program Development for Minerals and Coal, Tuesday, 26 November 2024.
This recognition is not the first for this subsidiary of PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk. In the previous year, BSI received the 2023 Tamasya Award for its efforts to improve the quality of life in Pesanggaran Subdistrict, Banyuwangi. Various PPM initiatives, such as skill training, infrastructure development, and economic assistance, have delivered long-lasting positive impacts.
BSI’s PPM programs focus on eight key pillars, covering education, health, economy, environment, and infrastructure—all designed to foster self-sufficiency in the communities around the mine. The primary beneficiaries of these programs are the residents of Ring 1 areas, including the villages of Sumberagung, Pesanggaran, Sumbermulyo, Kandangan, and Sarongan.
BSI’s ability to consistently earn the Tamasya Award is a testament to its commitment to sustainable mining practices while delivering substantial benefits to the local community.
The 2024 Tamasya Award ceremony took place during the Minerba Expo 2024, organized by the Directorate General of Minerals and Coal, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), at Balai Kartini, Jakarta, on November 25–26, 2024. With the theme “Minerals and Coal Driving Indonesia”, the event showcased the mining sector’s contributions to national development.
At the Minerba Expo, Merdeka Group also participated by showcasing its innovations and contributions to the mining industry. The Merdeka Group’s exhibit drew significant attention, including from Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, who praised Merdeka’s role in advancing Indonesia’s mining sector.
