Edwin Soeryadjaya

Indonesian citizen, born in 1949, was appointed as the President Commissioner of the Company in June 2016, having been the Vice President Commissioner of the Company since 2014.

He is one of Indonesia’s leading businessmen with a solid track record in automotive, coal mining, plantation, banking, and the retail industry.

He currently serves as the President Commissioner at PT Saratoga Investama Sedaya Tbk, President Commissioner at PT Alamtri Resources Indonesia Tbk (formerly known as PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk), President Commissioner at PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk, and President Commissioner at PT Mitra Pinasthika Mustika Tbk.

He was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year from Ernst & Young in 2010.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California, USA (1974).

He does not have any affiliate relationship with; (i) other members of the Board of Commissioners; or (ii) members of the Board of Directors. However, he does have an affiliate relationship with the controlling shareholder of the Company.

Tang Honghui

Chinese citizen, born in 1980, was appointed as the Commissioner of the Company in June 2022.

He serves as the Vice President at Guangdong Brunp Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. He used to serve for Shenzhen BAK Power Battery as an R&D Engineer and Hunan Brunp Recycling Technology as Director of the R&D Department and Deputy General Manager. He has more than 15 years of experience in technology development and application of recyclable resources recycle and reuse; development and industrialization of power-battery-used NMC & NCA precursor material, comprehensive development of laterite nickel ore, recycling of wastewater from industrial production, hazard-free treatment, and comprehensive utilization of solid waste from industrial production.

He earned a Doctorate Degree in Non-Ferrous Metallurgy from Central South University, China (2021).

He does not have any affiliate relationship with: (i) other members of the Board of Comissioners; (ii) members of the Board of Directors; or (iii) controlling shareholder of the Company. 

Budi Bowoleksono

Indonesian citizen, born in 1959, was appointed as the Independent Commissioner of the Company in January 2020.

Previously, he was a career diplomat having served for over 34 years in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, he served in various capacities including as the General Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. His overseas postings included assignments to the Permanent Missions of Republic of Indonesia for the United Nations in New York and Geneva, also the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Vienna, Austria. He served as the Ambassador for Foreign Affairs Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia in the USA (2014-2019) and was appointed as the General Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (2010-2014) and in Kenya, which also covers the Uganda, Mauritius, Seychelles, UN-Environment Program, and UN-Habitat (2008-2010).

Currently, he also serves as the Independent Commissioner at PT Adaro Minerals Indonesia Tbk, Independent Commissioner at PT Alamtri Resources Indonesia Tbk (formerly known as PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk), and President Commissioner at PT Adaro Andalan Indonesia Tbk since 2024.

He graduated with a degree from Krisnadwipayana University, Indonesia (1984).

He does not have any affiliate relationship with: (i) other members of the Board of Comissioners; (ii) members of the Board of Directors; or (iii) controlling shareholder of the Company. 

Muhamad Munir

Indonesian citizen, born in 1958, was appointed as the Independent Commissioner of the Company in July 2020.

He served as the Military Regional Command Jaya (2009-2010), Commander of Infantry Division 2/Army Strategic Reserve Command (2010-2011), Commander of Military Regional Command III Siliwangi (2011-2012), Commander of the Army Strategic Reserve Command (2012-2013), Deputy Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (2013-2015), Secretary General of the National Defence Council (2015-2016), and Independent Commissioner of Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID) (2018-2024).

He is a Indonesian Army Command and Staff College (1996), the Indonesian National Armed Forces Joint and Staff College (2001), National Defence Institute of the Republic of Indonesia (2012). He also obtained his Master’s and Doctor’s degrees majoring in Business Management at Bina Nusantara University in 2017 and 2020.

He does not have any affiliate relationship with: (i) other members of the Board of Comissioners; (ii) members of the Board of Directors; or (iii) controlling shareholder of the Company. 

Yoke Candra

Indonesian citizen, born in 1975, was appointed as the Commissioner of the Company in January 2022.

He has a solid background in managerial and commercial with more than 20 years of work experience in various local, foreign, as well as State-Owned Enterprises. He served as Director of Marketing and Business Development at PT Surabaya Industrial Estate Rungkut (SIER) (2007-2011), Consultant and Expert at the Bureau of Economic Affairs for the Management of Regionally Owned Enterprises (BUMD) in the East Java Provincial Government (2012-
2015), Consultant and Expert on Cooperation and Investment at Surabaya-Madura Regional Development Agency (2012-2016), Supervisory Board at Perum Jasa Tirta I (2014-2016), Commissioner at PT Petrokimia Gresik (2016-2021), and Commissioner at PT Semen Gresik (2021-2024).

He earned a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Surabaya (1999) and Master of Management in Marketing Management from Universitas Airlangga (2008).

He does not have any affiliate relationship with: (i) other members of the Board of Comissioners; (ii) members of the Board of Directors; or (iii) controlling shareholder of the Company. 

Andrew Phillip Starkey

British citizen, born in 1976, was appointed as the Commissioner of the Company in June 2025.

He has more than 25 years of experience in infrastructure and natural resources in the financial, investment, and business development sectors, focusing on the Asia-Pacific region.

He served as Vice President at Goldman Sachs (2007-2008), Managing Director at Macquarie Group (2011-2012), Executive Director at Presidio Capital, Singapore (2012-2016), and Managing Director and Co-Founder at Pierfront Capital, Singapore (2016-2022).

He earned Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne (1999), Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne (1999), Master’s in Finance (Dean’s List) from INSEAD (2011). He is also a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial analyst.

He does not have any affiliate relationship with: (i) other members of the Board of Comissioners; (ii) members of the Board of Directors; or (iii) controlling shareholder of the Company.

Albert Saputro

Indonesian citizen, born in 1985, was appointed as the President Director of the Company in May 2021.
He currently serves as the Vice President Portfolio of PT Saratoga Investama Sedaya Tbk since 2016 until now.
He served as the Treasury & Financial Analyst of Jardine Matheson (2005-2007), Senior Analyst of Macquarie Securities Group (2007-2011), and Senior Analyst of Deutsche Verdhana Indonesia (2011-2016).
He earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Sydney, Australia (2005).

He does not have any affiliate relationship with; (i) members of the Board of Commissioners; or (ii) other members of the Board of Directors. However, he does have an affiliate relationship with the controlling shareholder of the Company. 

Hardi Wijaya Liong

Indonesian citizen, born in 1970, was appointed as the Director of the Company in December 2014.

He served as Manager at Prasetio Utomo & Partners – Arthur Andersen, Indonesia (1993-1998), Vice President at Citigroup Investment Banking Indonesia (1998-2004), Commissioner at PT Provident Capital Indonesia (2005-2006), Commissioner at PT Provident Investasi Bersama Tbk (formerly PT Provident Agro Tbk) (2007-2012), and Commissioner at PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk (2009-2010).

Currently, he also serves as the President Commissioner at PT Provident Investasi Bersama Tbk, Chief Executive Officer and Vice President Director at PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk, Commissioner at BSI, and President Director at PT Provident Capital Indonesia.

He earned a Bachelor of Economics in Accounting from Trisakti University, Jakarta (1993).

He does not have any affiliate relationship with; (i) members of the Board of Commissioners; or (ii) other members of the Board of Directors. However, he does have an affiliate relationship with the controlling shareholder of the Company. 

 

Titien Supeno

Indonesian citizen, born in 1972, was appointed as the Director of the Company in May 2021.

She has more than 20 years of experience in the field of human resource management. She served as Talent Management, Organisational Development and HR Business Partner at PT HM Sampoerna Tbk (Philip Morris International) (2001-2008), (Acting) Head of HR at PT Heinz ABC (2008-2009), Head of HR at PT Anugerah Pharmindo Lestari (Zuelig Pharma Company) (2009-2013), and Director at PT Mitra Pinasthika Mustika Tbk (2013-2023). Currently, she also serves as Director at PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk since 2023, Commissioner at PT Huaneng Metal Industry and Commissioner at PT Merdeka Energi Utama.

She earned a Bachelor of Economics in Management from Trisakti University, Jakarta (1994), Master of Management from Trisakti University, Jakarta (1996), and Executive Programmes at INSEAD, Singapore and at Colorado State University, USA

She does not have any affiliate relationship with: (i) members of the Board of Comissioners; (ii) other members of the Board of Directors; or (iii) controlling shareholder of the Company.  

Gavin Arnold Caudle

Australian citizen, born in 1968, was appointed as the Director of the Company in June 2016.

With more than 20 years of professional experience in finance. He served as Manager at Arthur Anderson Australia (1993-1995), Partner at Arthur Anderson Australia (1995-1998),  Head of Investment Banking & Head of Mergers and Acquisition at Citigroup Indonesia (1998-2001), Managing Director at Saratoga Capital (2001-2004), and Founder of Provident Capital Partners.

He earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia (1988) and he is also a Chartered Accountant in Australia.

He does not have any affiliate relationship with: (i) members of the Board of Comissioners; (ii) other members of the Board of Directors; or (iii) controlling shareholder of the Company. 

Mirdal Vismara Timoer

Indonesian citizen, born in 1986. Appointed as a Director of the Company in June 2026.

He has more than 15 years of experience in finance, accounting, strategic planning, financing, and investor relations across the mining, energy, oil and gas, and telecommunications sectors. He began his career at EY Indonesia as an Audit Senior Associate in the OMT Group (Oil & Gas, Mining and Telecommunications) from 2009 to 2013. He subsequently joined Star Energy Group, a company operating in the geothermal and oil and gas sectors, as a Business Analyst/Corporate Finance professional from 2013 to 2018. He joined the Company in 2018 and has since held various strategic positions in corporate finance, corporate planning, and investor relations, including Corporate Planning Senior Manager (2018–2020), Head of Corporate Finance, FP&A and Investor Relations (2021–2025), and Deputy Group CFO (2025–2026).

He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting & Finance from Deakin University, Australia, in 2007 and a Master of Applied Finance from Monash University, Australia, in 2008.

He has no affiliation with (i) any other member of the Board of Directors; (ii) any member of the Board of Commissioners; or (iii) the controlling shareholder of the Company.

Mohammad Fitriyansyah

Indonesian citizen, born in 1966. Appointed as a Director of the Company in June 2026.

He has more than 30 years of experience in engineering design, field engineering, engineering management, construction management, and the execution of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects. His experience spans various industries, including oil and gas, petrochemicals, fertilizers, power generation, transmission networks, commercial buildings, mining infrastructure, and agribusiness. He began his career at PT Rekayasa Industri (1990–1994) before joining PT Balfour Beatty Sakti Indonesia (1994–2008), PT JGC Indonesia (2008–2011), and PT Petrosea Tbk (2011–2015). During this period, he was involved in and led various large-scale strategic projects in the energy, industrial, and infrastructure sectors, with responsibilities covering engineering, construction, project management, contracts, and operations.

In 2017, he joined PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Tbk (ANJ Group), where he served as Director of the holding company and as President Director and Director of several subsidiaries. In these roles, he led businesses engaged in oil palm plantations, palm oil mills, sago starch processing plants, edamame cultivation and processing facilities, and renewable energy-based biogas power plants.

He obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Universitas Indonesia in 1990.

He has no affiliation with (i) any other member of the Board of Directors; (ii) any member of the Board of Commissioners; or (iii) the controlling shareholder of the Company.

M.P. Riyadi Effendy

Indonesian citizen, born in 1970. Appointed as a Director of the Company in June 2026.

He has more than 30 years of experience in finance, accounting, corporate governance, business transformation, and strategic management across the mining, automotive, telecommunications, and infrastructure sectors. He began his career at Arthur Andersen & Co. as an Auditor Supervisor (1993–1997), before continuing his professional career with the Astra International Group (1997–2000), Lippo Group (2000–2004), Allbrite Automotive Group (2004–2005), Kia Mobil Indonesia Group (2005–2019), and PT Hyundai Oto Komersial Indonesia (2019–2022), holding various leadership positions in finance and operations.

He joined the Merdeka Group in 2022 and has since held a number of strategic roles focused on business performance improvement, operational efficiency, and the strengthening of corporate governance. He currently serves as Chief of Business Improvement of the Company and as a Director of several of the Company’s subsidiaries.

He obtained a Bachelor of Economics in Accounting from Universitas Sriwijaya in 1993, graduating cum laude as the top graduate of his class. He also completed the Executive Management Program at Asian Institute of Management, further strengthening his expertise in leadership, corporate finance, and business strategy.

He has no affiliation with (i) any other member of the Board of Directors; (ii) any member of the Board of Commissioners; or (iii) the controlling shareholder of the Company.

Jim Sweeney

Jim is an exploration and evaluation geologist with over 22 years of experience in gold, base metals and diamonds in Africa, Asia, Australia, and Europe, and most recently serving as the Exploration GM. He has managed multi-million-dollar exploration programs from grassroots through feasibility stages, overseen substantial annual increases in resource, and reserve numbers and taken several projects from the exploration stage through to production. His previous employees include Locrian Resources Inc. in Laos and Myanmar, J Resources Group and Avocet Mining Plc. in Southeast Asia, and BHP Billiton subsidiary in Angola.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Geology from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, a Master of Science in Mineral Exploration from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College of Science, London, and an MBA from the University of Warwick, England.

Peter Kevin Scanlon

A Civil Engineer with 28 years of construction experience, working the last 7 years with Merdeka Copper Gold and 21 years prior with Thiess.

During his tenures with both Merdeka and Thiess, Peter worked on multi-disciplined projects covering Heavy Civil, Mechanical, Process, Oil & Gas, Mining and Estimating, working internationally in Australia, England, India and 20 years within Indonesia.

He consistently manages and supports project teams, developing, guiding, and mentoring through all project phases to successful project completion, helping ensure works are delivered in accordance with requirements for safety, environment, quality, and schedule, in line with or bettering project budgets. He is fluent in Bahasa Indonesia, understands the culture and way of business in Asia, and has a proven track record in a multitude of diverse remote projects and senior management roles.

Resource construction experience covers copper, gold, silver, nickel, coal, oil & gas.

He established Merdeka’s Tujuh Bukit Gold Mine from grassroots construction through all expansions till the current day.

He then established Merdeka Mining Servis (MMS), Merdeka’s construction business, with ongoing projects and expansions currently underway at Tujuh Bukit Gold, Wetar Copper, Sihayo Gold, Merdeka-Tsingshan Acid Iron Metal Project, Konawe Nickel Project and Pani Gold.

Luke Daniel Morris

Luke has over 20 years of international mining experience, in Australia, Tanzania and Laos, most recently serving as the General Manager of PT Bumi Suksesindo (BSI) in Banyuwangi, East Java. Previously, Luke was with Phu Bia Mining Ltd in Laos for more than 11 years in various roles, from Geotechnical and Geology to Technical Services to Mining Operations Management. Luke also held previous positions in Geotechnical at AngloGold Ashanti in Tanzania, BHP Billiton and WMC Resources in Australia.

Luke holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Geological and a Graduate Certificate in International Business from RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia.

Boyke Poerbaya Abidin

Indonesian citizen, born in 1964. He started his career in 1985 as a management consultant in finance and accounting systems before moving to the mining sector in 1990 and has experience in the fields of Government Affairs, Community Affairs, Asset Protection, and Corporate Communications until now. In addition to serving as Chief External Affairs at PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk, he also served in several subsidiaries of Merdeka. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Administration from the International University, London, in 1985.

Eric Rahardja

Indonesian citizen, 39 years old, professional in mining finance with experience including professional auditing as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of large mining companies, particularly in accounting, finance, business development, risk management, and infrastructure projects. He started his career as an auditor at Paul Hadiwinata, Hidajat, Arsono & Rekan (a member of the PKF International firm), then at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, and then at PT Kaltim Prima Coal in Sangatta, East Kalimantan. Before joining Merdeka, he worked at Baramulti Group since 2011 as Group Finance Controller responsible for IPO and M&A projects and after that as CFO at PT Baramulti Suksessarana Tbk (2012–2019) and PT Mitrabara Adiperdana Tbk (2020–2021). He is also responsible for the Baramulti Coal infrastructure project as President Director of PT Wahana Bara Sentosa (2019–2021). He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from The Australian National University, Canberra.
