We urge the public, particularly job seekers, to remain vigilant against recruitment scams carried out in the name of PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk and its subsidiaries. These scams are not limited to fake job vacancies, but may also take the form of fraudulent interview invitations, recruitment test notifications, or other communications designed to appear as though they originate from the Company or its authorized recruiters. Such documents and messages are often crafted to resemble official corporate communications, making them appear legitimate and potentially misleading prospective applicants.
In general, recruitment scams are intended to exploit the hiring process for financial gain. Perpetrators typically seek to obtain victims’ personal or financial information and may also request payments under the pretext of administrative fees, transportation, accommodation, training, or other recruitment-related expenses.
Recruitment scams commonly exhibit several warning signs. Fraudsters may misuse a company’s identity, including its logo, the names of company representatives, email addresses, or websites that closely imitate the Company’s official channels. Victims may be asked to participate in an unusual recruitment process, such as receiving an interview invitation without ever applying for a position, being promised immediate employment without undergoing a proper selection process, or being pressured to confirm their participation within an unreasonably short timeframe. In some cases, they may also be asked to provide personal or financial information before the identity of the contacting party can be verified.
We therefore encourage all job seekers to verify any recruitment-related information through the Company’s official communication channels. Do not disclose personal information, make any payments, or follow instructions from individuals or organizations whose identity and legitimacy cannot be verified.
