Position Title: Cost Control Specialist

Primary Purpose
PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk is a holding company with operating subsidiaries engaging in mining business activities, encompassing the exploration and future production of gold, silver, copper, and other related minerals, and mining services. Currently we are looking to hire a passionate applicant to join our team as a Cost Control Specialist.
Job Description/Responsibilities
- Proficient in budget details, able to determine standard/normal costs, and investigate variances between actual costs and budgets by breaking them down into cost elements and categories as necessary.
- Analyze capital expenditure (capex) or operational expenditure (opex) proposals or requests from other departments to ensure they are reasonable, justifiable, aligned with operational needs, and within the approved budget.
- Collect and analyze related financial data and generate detailed cost monitoring reports.
- Support and collaborate closely with relevant departments to ensure all costs are executed, monitored, and remain within the approved proposals or budgets.
- Identify and recommend necessary activities for improving cost control and monitoring.
Educational Requirement
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in one of the following fields; Finance, Accounting.
Qualification
- Over 6 years of experience in accounting, management reporting, cost control, project management, financial analysis, or related fields.
- Audit experience or an auditing background; experience as an internal or external auditor from a reputable audit firm is preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Proto).
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills: proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
- Experience managing cross-functional or departmental teams or leading cost control initiatives.
- Proficiency in data analysis and tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of business regulations, such as SOX, GDPR, and other compliance standards.
