Jakarta Head Officer

The Project Metallurgist will work alongside Project Managers or other Project Leaders to ensure the successful completion of a project. This role ultimately a liaison for all project stakeholders for acknowledging their needs and expectations and devising a strategy to achieve project’s goals efficiently in initiating, planning, scheduling and execution.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures Legal and HSE regulations are included and followed in all aspects of project phases, this includes the requirements for HAZOP and Risks Assessment.
- Performs designs/studies for new business initiatives, feasibility studies and process optimization, including providing technical direction for all engineering works along the project phases.
- Collaborates functionally with project related department (Project Control, Project Services, Project Construction and Metallurgy) and other departments or project users (HSE, Operation, Maintenance, Legal, EA, SCM, etc.).
- Acts as technical point of contact in coordination and communication of project data and information with external project stakeholders (Contractors, Consultants, Vendors and GoI officers as required) start from initiation phase to commissioning phase.
- Discusses and reviews specifications for projects based on a thorough review of engineering standards, performance standards, client requirements and available product/technology design.
- Reviews and evaluates consultant/contractor proposals, bids/quotes, engineering documents/drawings and coordinates with related team for review and decision making; the process including presentation and workshops as required.
- Assists the development of budget, estimate, schedule and project plans including monitoring the progress, actual cost and forecast in coordination with Project Control.
- Assists project reporting process with preparation of weekly dashboards, monthly reports and other project reports as required, including attending regular meetings and coordination with all project stakeholders.
- Assists Project Manager in preparation of project documents along the project phases, this includes technical writing of Capex Justification, Execution Plan, Scope, Technical Recommendation, Project Timeline
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy or mineral processing related disciplines.
- Speaks and writes in English fluently.
- Minimum 6 years relevant experience in Mining and Mineral Processing (Nickel, Copper, Gold) with exposure in ore characterization, mineralogy, test works and processing methods.
- Has knowledge and strong background of Project Management, Project Design, Project Construction and Process Improvement.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic environment, has attention to detail, analytical thinking, can-do attitude, strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to travel as and when required to all Merdeka’s project sites (Banyuwangi, Pulau Wetar, Morowali, Gorontalo, Konawe, etc.).
